Hollywood actor Glen Powell announced on social media that the winner of his lookalike contest that took place in Austin, Texas, on Monday, Nov. 25, will earn a cameo on his next film.

A string of celebrity look-alike events are taking Hollywood by storm lately after a Timothée Chalamet look-alike contest was held in New York last month. More events followed suit, featuring doppelgangers of stars like Zayn Malik, Jeremy Allen White, and Zendaya, among others.

Powell said that it is a “personal prize” to the winner of his lookalike contest that can also be extended to a loved one of their choice.

“I know there is some cash and a hat at stake here, but I just wanted to say that the winner of today’s contest gets a personal prize from me. Now, you may know that my parents make a cameo in every movie I make, but today, the winner of the Glen Powell lookalike contest wins their parents or any family member of their choice a cameo in my next movie. I am completely serious. This is a cash-value prize of $6 billion,” he said.

The lucky guy who just won himself a big prize was Maxwell Braunstein, a physician’s assistant in Austin. According to a report by Fox 7, Powell’s mom Cyndy was a judge for the lookalike competition, and the original prize included $5, a cowboy hat, and free queso from Tex-Mex spot Torchy’s Tacos for a year.

Powell’s noteworthy performance in Tom Cruise’s 2022 film, “Top Gun,” Maverick,” began the journey for him to becoming the bankable actor that he is in Hollywood today. One of his recent projects, “Twisters,” has amassed $371 million at the global box office, a strong followup to “Anyone But You,” the 2023 rom-com in which he starred opposite Sydney Sweeney, that grossed $220 million worldwide.

The 35-year-old actor first gained prominence after starring in the film “Set Me Up” and the horror series “Scream Queens.”
