LOS ANGELES – If you buy your apple juice from Walmart, you might want to check if it’s the brand that has recently been recalled due to elevated arsenic levels.

Walmart has recalled nearly 10,000 cases of eight-ounce Great Value Apple Juice sold in stores across the US. The product was found to contain potentially harmful levels of inorganic arsenic.

The recall impacts 9,535 cases of the product that were sold at Walmart stores in a six-pack, according to the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

The recall, initiated on August 15, 2024, covers apple juice marked with the “Best if Used by DEC2824” code and the UPC number 0-78742-29655-5.

In the recall number F-1746-2024, the federal agency said that the apple juice “contains inorganic arsenic above the action level set in industry guidance.”

On Aug. 23, the recall was upgraded to Class II, which is defined by the FDA as a product that “may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences.”

Meanwhile, Unilever has announced it is recalling approximately 137,000 cases of Popsicle Jolly Rancher Frozen Confection Pop products because the products may contain milk, which is not listed as an ingredient on the label.
