BINI sikat, BINI on top!

The LA Clippers’ Filipino Heritage Night at Intuit Dome turned into a celebration of Filipino pride, as the dance squad hyped the crowd with the beats of BINI’s latest single, “Cherry on Top.” 

While BINI didn’t perform in person, the use of their song in the halftime show brought a piece of the Philippines to the NBA stage, giving fans a taste of p-pop and sparking excitement worldwide.

The halftime show spotlighted five Filipino American members of the Clippers Spirit dance team, who performed “Cherry on Top” with high-energy choreography, which reached the “Blooms” in the Philippines.

Many on the internet speculated whether one of the performers or the show’s choreographer might even be a “Bloom” — the devoted fanbase of BINI — making the choice of song feel specially personal. 

In an Instagram video posted on Clippers Spirit’s account, the Fil-Am dancers shared what being Filipino means to them.

Dana highlighted Filipino hospitality, a defining trait that makes everyone feel like family.

Aryn mentioned the warmth that Filipinos express through food, a love language that brings communities together.

Taryn emphasized the hard-working spirit that Filipinos are known for, while Chelsea shared her pride in the Filipino culture.

Stephanie expressed her deep appreciation for Filipino cuisine, noting how food ties into cultural identity.

For the “Blooms,” the song’s presence at such a high-profile event was a proud moment, symbolizing the strength of Filipino talent and the potential for even more global recognition. 

A “Bloom” posted on X with the video of the performance, writing, “BINI sikat!!! BINI on NBA!!! BINI being played at the LA Clippers dome!!! Cherry on Top being performed!!! This is getting heard by the NBA fans!!!”
