David Charlton, the founder of the beauty salon chain David’s Salon, has died at the age of 69, the salon’s management confirmed on its social media pages.
“The whole family of David’s Salon mourns the passing of our founder. His love and generosity will forever be remembered,” read the obituary shared on Tuesday, Oct. 29.

In 1978, Charlton flew to the Philippines where he worked at a salon that later became his own.

Article continues after this advertisementCharlton worked with a lot of Filipino celebrities including beauty queen Bea Rose Santiago, who paid tribute to the late hairdresser via Instagram.

TV host Christine Bersola also expressed grief, lamenting Charlton’s sudden passing.
Charlton’s wake will be open for public viewing from Wednesday, Oct. 30, at 2 p.m. until Saturday, Nov. 2. The final Mass will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 3, at The Chapels Heritage Park Taguig.
