One of the most awaited segments of the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) is the Parade of Stars, which will happen on Saturday, Dec. 21, in Manila.
Scheduled at 2 p.m., the parade will cover a 12-kilometer route from Kartilya ng Katipunan in Ermita to the Manila Central Post Office in Liwasang Bonifàcio. Ten colorful floats of the festival’s participating films will greet fans and film enthusiasts, according to the MMFF on Facebook.

Burgos, Jones Bridge, Quintin Paredes, Reina Regente Street, Recto Avenue, Abad Santos Avenue, Tayuman Street, Lacson Avenue along España Boulevard, Nicanor Reyes Street (along Morayta), C.M. Recto Avenue, Legarda Street, P. Casal Street, Ayala Boulevard, Taft Avenue, T.M. Kalaw Street, P. Burgos Avenue of Roxas Boulevard, Jones Bridge, and Magallanes Avenue, before ending at the Manila Central Post Office.

According to the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA), roads covering the parade’s route will be closed to the public. A stop-and-go scheme at the identified roads will also be applied on the day itself.
The participating films include “And the Breadwinner Is…,” “Green Bones,” “Uninvited,” “Isang Himala,” “The Kingdom,” “Espantaho,” “Hold Me Close,” “Strange Frequencies: Taiwan Killer Hospital,” “My Future You” and “Topakk” which will be shown in theaters from Dec. 25 to Jan. 7, 2025.

The Best Float plum was awarded to the Japanese-inspired iteration of “When I Met You in Tokyo” starring Vilma Santos and Christopher de Leon.
